BLIND UNITED

Goals and Support

Blind United is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building bridges, closing gaps, and making connections for blind and visually impaired individuals. Our mission is to empower the blind and visually impaired community by fostering independence through education, support, and awareness.

Blind United envisions a future where blind and visually impaired individuals in the Inland Empire, particularly in San Bernardino, California, have access to comprehensive training that enables them to lead more independent lives. Currently, we are conducting classes via Zoom, offering vital programs such as Braille and assistive technology instruction, including JAWS, NVDA, and ZoomText. Additionally, our curriculum encompasses iPhone and iPad usage for those who are blind, independent living classes, Braille courses, fitness sessions, and a dedicated support group.

All classes and services are provided free of charge.

Our goal is to establish a training center in the Inland Empire, providing a physical space for immersive and firsthand learning experiences. However, we cannot achieve this without the generous support of individuals and organizations like yours.

Your donation to Blind United will directly contribute to the success of our programs and initiatives, including our scholarship fund for blind college students, furthering their educational pursuits.

Here is how your contribution can be effective:

  1. Training Center Development: Your support will help us establish a physical training center in San Bernardino, creating a hub for education and empowerment for visually impaired individuals.
  2. Program Expansion: Enable us to expand our online classes and outreach efforts, reaching a broader audience and providing valuable resources to those who need them.
  3. Scholarship Fund: Contribute to our scholarship program, supporting blind college students in their academic endeavors.
  4. Awareness Campaigns: Help us raise awareness about the challenges faced by the blind and visually impaired community, fostering understanding and inclusivity        five.       Support our advocacy efforts where we fight for the rights of the blind community and affect changes within society to be more diverse and inclusive.
